We are departing on the 23rd October 2011 from London
We are looking to raise £500 to £600 for the following charities
Help for Heroes and Marie Curie Cancer Care
So as we, Team Idiotz.Abroad, prepare for the challenge on behalf of our charities, and not too keen on walking all the way, so we have brought our chariot (Zeeebra 3)out of mothballs to speed us along the way for this great cause.
We woke up Zeeebra 3 from her slumber, with a good clean and a fresh tank of fuel, followed by with a long test drive, she is now ready for the Home to Rome duel
Zeeebra 3, is a 1985 Volvo 740 GL 2.3. finished in a delicate shade of greyish brown, and still supports 20+ years of battle scars and environmental bruises
Zeeebra 3, is now reliable and eager for the duel, which was not the case earlier in the year (where she decided to have electrical problems just before the Plymouth to Banjul (Gambia) charity run.
Home to Rome - So what is it?
Well is a drive form London, England to Rome, Italy crossing the following countries..
England,
France,
Belgium,
Luxemburg,
Germany,
Switzerland,
And finally onto Italy....
The map below shows the route which will be just over 1000miles and will take several days to complete
We will pitch up in camping equipment and taking the 'scenic' route throughout the journey, so let’s hope the weather holds (especially in the Swiss Alps)
We will upload more photos and update the Blog as we travel through stage
At this stage, as we prepare for our epic tour for our chosen charities, we would like to send a personal thank you to the following people for helping us get this far:
Genesis – For printing Idiotz.Abroad artwork
Patrick – Porshcembri for the MoT Zeeebra-3 and many spare parts for the trip
Andrew - Planning the route
